Age to participate 1st-5th grade.
The Illuminate choir uses white gloved hands to
worship and praise God with Christian contemporary music during The ConneXion Worship Service and for special evening events in the Sanctuary.
A black light is used to illuminate the white
gloves as the choir uses their hands to build a visual message set to music. Students work an average of two months for an hour and a half a week to produce four minute hand-mime presentation for our congregation.
We are the youngest hand-mime choir in Hot Springs, Arkansas! We work very hard
each week on our assigned mime parts and end each class with a group power
prayer. Because of our age ranges and abilities, it is important to be at most
practices. Students are expected to make the scheduled worship date due to the
inability to have someone with the ability to step in to substitute your part
in the choir.
The choir typically practices on Wednesday nights from 6:00
pm-7:00 pm in the Christian Life Center's Almighty Arena (second floor children's wing) for about 6-8 weeks at a time. You
are welcome to invite friends and you do not need to be a member of the church to be part of
this worship group. Black
shirts and gloves are provided. Participants are asked to furnish their own
black pants and socks.
