Retreat and Refocus Jesus modeled a life
of ministry and retreat. The Bible tells of many times that Jesus left
the crowds behind to retreat to a quiet place to spend in prayer and
communion with God. In this hectic life, we rarely calendar time to get
away and commune with God. We therefore have opportunities on the
calendar for you. I rarely/never
spend time alone with God to think about God’s call for my life. o Attend a short term retreat to refocus and
discern God’s call for my life. o Join a Half-Time Small Group I have experienced
times of retreat and refocus in my life and my life was transformed because
of them. o Sign up for 1-2 retreats or refocus
opportunities I schedule at least
one time a year to spend in quiet and discernment with God. o Invite a friend to join you on a retreat.
I encourage
others/invite others to attend a retreat or refocus opportunity. Volunteer as a table
leader or hospitality at a retreat to give others the opportunity to retreat.
