Disciple:
a pupil who submits to processes of learning under a teacher (Jesus). …
follower, imitator Adult
Discipleship Discipleship
is learning, becoming, and mentoring others about being a follower of
Christ. It is an “on the road” learning and shaping
process. It is an interconnected process that involves us with God and
others. It is messy, it is tiring, it is
exhilarating. Each of us are called to be discipled
and to disciple others according to our gifts, experiences, and personality.
Each journey is different. The church’s role is to help mentor
and provide opportunities to experience God’s grace on this
journey. Each of us will find different needs and tools for this
journey depending on where we are in our life. All of us need others to
hold us accountable and encourage us along. The discipling
process is ultimately up to us. It is our responsibility to find the
balance in our lives of Sabbath and Rest; Doing and Being; Experiencing God,
corporately and privately. |
